About the Author

Vanessa Lyman Withers enlisted in the U.S. Army after high school. Upon completion of that enlistment, she attended the Ohio State University and earned a bachelor’s degree in health education followed by a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Capital University. Post college, Vanessa once again served in the military as an officer in the army reserves. She then went back to the Ohio State University and earned a master’s degree in public health nursing. Vanessa worked as a school nurse for eleven years. Through that experience, she has come to believe that much of the success of children depends on positive choices made early in life. Bradford Trent Lyman is the nephew of the author. His first memory of drawing was at the age of 5. He felt inspired by the encouragement of his family when they noticed his talent at such an early age. Throughout the years, Bradford continued to participate in various art programs and projects, but never established himself as an artist by profession. Bradford currently lives with his wife and two children. He is a Registered Polysomnographic Technologists at a Level 1 Trauma Center. Although he is very busy with his work and family, he thoroughly enjoyed illustrating this book. –This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title
